Can I pre-book my Park and Ride parking?

As Park and Ride is a 12-month trial at this stage, online bookings are not yet available. We are working to implement new technology into our terminal car parking and this may be an option in the future.

How do I buy a ticket?

The facility is based on a ‘pay-to-park, free-to-ride’ model where users input their registration at the pay and display machine, choose their length of stay, then make the payment. Customers will be issued with a ticket to show the driver when boarding the shuttle.

The ticket is required for both legs of the journey so please keep your ticket and have it ready for the return trip. Queenstown Airport staff will regularly monitor the Park and Ride car park to ensure all users have registered their vehicles.

Is the cost to park per person or per car?

The Park and Ride cost is per vehicle. The Park and Ride facility cannot be used for commercial purposes by tour groups, taxi firms, hotel and accommodation operators and others who use large vehicles for commercial passenger use. There are various commercial opportunities available - please contact our commercial team to discuss.

How much luggage can I bring with me?

There is no set limit on the amount of luggage per passenger, however we ask that if you have more than the allocated airline allowance per person you contact the airport Info Desk ahead of time to ensure we can cater for your additional luggage.

My flight is delayed coming back to Queenstown and I need extra time?

No worries, simply call the airport information desk on +64 3 450 9221 or email us at infodesk@queenstownairport.co.nz and let us know what your return date will be prior to the expiry of your parking to avoid any fines.

Lost your ticket?

Don’t panic. Either ask your driver before boarding the shuttle at the terminal and s/he can radio our operations team and check your registration and payment details.

Alternatively, please visit the helpful team at the Airport Info Desk in terminal and they can re-issue your ticket.

Is the Park and Ride carpark secure?

The Park and Ride car park will have lighting at night for safety and fencing. Should you have any safety concerns or encounter anything suspicious while using the facility, please let the driver know, visit the Airport Info Desk or call 03 450 9031 to speak to someone immediately.

I am travelling with an infant/toddler, can I use my own booster seat in shuttle?

The Park and Ride shuttle is a passenger vehicle (driver has P endorsement) therefore toddlers and babies do not require booster/cars seats.  If you would prefer your children to use car seats, you are welcome to supply and fit these in the shuttle prior to departure.

I use a wheelchair, can I travel on the Park and Ride shuttle?

No. Unfortunately there isn't any wheelchair access on the shuttle currently, however we do have a number of mobility parking spaces conveniently located in terminal carpark A which we can offer to you at the Park and Ride rate –  simply find a mobility park then make your way to the Airport Information Desk team inside so we can adapt your ticket. We have a large group who want to use the park and ride, should we call ahead?

If you have a group of 8 or more passengers, we’d appreciate a call ahead to let us know. We want to ensure all our visitors have the best experience they can when using the Park and Ride shuttle and with some advance notice we can make additional arrangements to cater for larger groups travelling together.
