International Departures
Queenstown Airport recommends passengers arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time.
Before arriving at the airport make sure that both you and your luggage complies with aviation security regulations - including those relating to what you can carry onto the plane in your hand luggage.
Ensure all luggage is clearly labelled.
Find out about carrying liquids, gels or aerosols before you get to the airport, and remember it is always wise to check your airline ticket for more information.

Check-in
These counters are located at the left side the terminal. When checking in ensure that you have ready your passport, travel documents, including ticket and/or booking reference.

Departure Card
All passengers must complete a passenger departure card before they can be processed through Customs and Immigration.

Departure Information
Departure gate information is displayed on monitors throughout the terminal. Passengers are advised to check the monitors for their departure time. The airlines will also announce the time for passengers to go to their departure gate.

Security Check Point
All passengers pass through the security screening point operated by the Aviation Security Service. Security restrictions are in place including restrictions on the amount of liquids, aerosols and gel items that can now be carried in the cabin of international flights.
You can only carry liquids, aerosols or gels in hand luggage if each container is no more than 100ml, and these containers collectively can fit comfortably into one re-sealable, 20cm x 20cm (or smaller) transparent plastic bag.

Parking
Parking is made easy at Queenstown Airport
Check-In

Shops, Café’s & Bars
Queenstown Airport offers a range of eating and drinking options within the Terminal.
For those travelling on international flights there is a small coffee and snack kiosk in the International Departure Lounge.

GST Notice
There is no GST refund system in NZ or its Airports.
NZ Inland Revenue advises that in nearly all cases, a goods and services tax (15%) is payable on items purchased in NZ.
There are many retailers across New Zealand where you can shop tax and GST free from – check with retailers whether this is an option when purchasing an item.
Security
Security remains a top priority at Queenstown Airport. On-site security measures are regularly monitored and the Airport continues to meet stringent security standards set by the Government.

Customs
After security you will reach the Customs Counter. Please To help us ensure processing flows smoothly for the benefit of all passengers, before reaching the Customs Counter please have your boarding pass, passenger departure card and passport ready.
Duty Free
A Duty Free store is located in the departure gate directly after the Customs Counters. Also in the departure area are café and news agency kiosks.

Gates & Boarding
The gates at Queenstown Airport are situated in the main concourse area. Gate 1 is to the left of the Café and Gates 2 to 6 are past the Security Screening Point on the Left.
Gates for the International Departures, are beyond the same Security Screening Point.
Departure gate information is displayed on monitors throughout the departure area and after security. Passengers are advised to check the monitors for information on when to proceed to the departure gate.
Airlines also announce when it is time to proceed to the departure gate.
To help us ensure processing flows smoothly for the benefit of all passengers, before reaching the Security Screening Point, please have your boarding pass ready and if flying internationally also have ready your passenger departure card and passport.
Departure Lounges - Domestic
All domestic departure lounges at Queenstown Airport have comfortable seating, refreshment vending machine and public toilet facilities, and baby change facilities.
Departure Lounges – International
As well as having a Duty Free store, the international departure lounge at Queenstown Airport, has a café kiosk serving coffee, soft drinks and baked goods, a news agency kiosk and vending machines. Baby change facilities are also available in the International Departure Lounge.
