Agriculture & Quarantine

Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is a new ministry formed from the merger of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Fisheries and the New Zealand Food Safety Authority.

It is the job of MPI to ensure that New Zealand remains free from harmful pests and diseases. Strict laws are in place for all travellers and belongings entering New Zealand (by air or sea).
